Keynote lecture in Umeå, Sweden 2024

Advice for the future 2024

Over the last year, I have been invited to Sweden several times to speak at events which focus on crime prevention and the intersection between childhood experiences of domestic violence/abuse and later involvement in youth violence. One such event was in April 2024 and the recording is available below. I am very excited to be returning to Sweden twice again this autumn. It seems there is an appetite to hone in on a gendered view of youth adversity and I am excited to be a small part of it.

The Crime Prevention Council Brå authority works to reduce crime and increase safety in society. They do this by gathering facts and disseminating knowledge about crime, crime fighting and crime prevention work, primarily to the government and authorities within the justice system. Advice for the future is the Crime Prevention Council’s national conference on crime prevention work. This time the conference was arranged in collaboration with Umeå municipality, and took place at Umeå Folkets hus on 10–11 April. It was also possible to participate digitally.
